Skateboarder, 17, suffers major injuries in Cambridge truck collision
Police asking for public assistance
Police in Cambridge are asking for the public's help after a 17-year-old boy riding a skateboard suffered "major" injuries after he collided with the side of a pickup truck on Friday night in Galt.
Police say the boy and the pickup crossed paths just after 10 p.m. on Friday as the truck was turning right from Brooklyn Road onto Glen Road in the Hespeler Road and Dundas Street North area of Cambridge.
Investigators say the boy collided with the pickup truck and he first was taken to Cambridge Memorial Hospital and then rushed to a hospital in Hamilton with what police describe as "major" injuries.
Investigators are looking for witnesses and ask for anyone with information to call police.
