SIU investigating after Kitchener man dies in hospital

The SIU is investigating after police responded to a call where a man was in medical distress, but was pronounced dead in hospital.

A 37-year-old Kitchener man's death is being investigated by the province's special investigations unit.

An SIU release said police were called to a home on Lancaster St. W., and Bridgeport Rd. E., at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday.

The officers found a man in medical distress. The man was taken to Grand River Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The SIU investigates reports where police are involved and there is a death, serious injury, or allegations of sexual assault.
