Sisters missing in eastern Ont. provincial park found safe
Girls left campsite for a walk in Bon Echo Park
Two teenage sisters who went missing after going for a walk Thursday in Bon Echo Provincial Park have been found and are in good condition, Ontario Provincial Police said Friday night.
Jenna Kip, 16, and her sister Emma, 13, of New Hamburg, Ont. — a small community just west of Kitchener — were located around 6 p.m Friday night and flown by helicopter to be checked out by paramedics.
The girls were with their family at the Hardwood Hills campground at the park northeast of Belleville when they went for a walk around 10 a.m. ET Thursday. They did not return to the campsite.
More than 25 police officers, including the aerial, marine and ATV units, as well at the canine units and park staff were involved in the search.
