Rain advisory issued for Waterloo region and surrounding area

A rain advisory is in effect for Waterloo region and the surrounding area.

Environment Canada says 15 to 25 millimetres of rain is forecast for Wednesday night and into early Thursday morning for the following areas:

  • Guelph – Erin – Southern Wellington County
  • Kitchener – Cambridge – Region of Waterloo
  • Mount Forest – Arthur – Northern Wellington County

A heavy rain system is moving into the area from the central U.S bringing significant rainfall, the weather advisory said.

Fog patches are also expected overnight.
