Pedestrian faces charges after being hit by car
A 24-year-old Kitchener woman is being charged with failing to use a crosswalk after being struck by a car on King Street West near Wellington Street South in Kitchener.
Police say the woman was intoxicated when she ran out in front of a vehicle, driven by a 23 year-old female from Ridgeway, Ontario.
The pedestrian suffered a broken leg and head injuries, police said.
The penalty for failure to use a crosswalk is a $110 fine under the Highway Traffic Act.
