Murder charge laid in Six Nations homicide
Six Nations Police Service have charged a man with murder in connection to the death of a 68-year-old man just southeast of Brantford, Ont.
Police responded to a call on Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. to a home on 6th Line Road near Ohsweken and found Francis Lickers Sr. dead inside. He had sustained multiple stab wounds, said Six Nations Police Senior Const. Derrick Anderson.
Soh Gwa Yan Di Saws Styres, 20, from Six Nations has been charged with second degree murder and is being held in custody.
Anderson said the homicide "hits close to home" given the small size of the community.
"You say the word 'homicide' or the word 'murder', and every community member no matter where they live is going to be concerned."
The investigation continues with the assistance of Ontario Provincial Police criminal investigations officers.
