Guelph police have charged a man with second-degree murder after a 42-year-old man was found dead at a home on Elizabeth Street Friday morning.

The man's body was discovered by police and paramedics after they were called to the home at 5:30 a.m.

Police arrested a 29-year-old man, who faces a second-degree murder charge in connection with the death. He was scheduled to appear in a Guelph courtroom on Friday.

"The victim and the accused knew each other, but I don't how they knew each other, " said Guelph police constable Michael Gatto. 

Police have withheld the name of the victim until his family has been notified.
