Man connected to Kitchener minor hockey charged with sexual assault

One 33-year-old Kitchener man connected to the Kitchener Minor Hockey Association is facing charges for alleged sexual offences between 2004 and 2006.

Waterloo Regional Police have charged a 33-year-old Kitchener man with sexual assault and sexual interference for his connection to alleged offences involving a volunteer coach with the Kitchener Minor Hockey Association.

He was arrested on Aug. 13.

The alleged sexual offences occurred between 2004 and 2006 and involved one victim.

Police say he is a supply teacher at the Wellington Catholic District School Board and Bruce Grey Catholic School Board. It's not known if he continues to be an employee at either board.

He is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 17.
