Man assaults good Samaritans in 'punching game'

Waterloo Regional Police have arrested a 21-year-old man for allegedly pretending to be injured, luring in good Samaritans and then assaulting them.

A 21-year-old man has been charged with assault for playing what Waterloo Regional Police are calling "the punching game." 

Police allege the man would pretend to be injured in order to lure in unsuspecting people and then assault them when they tried to offer help.

One victim has been transported to Grand River Hospital to be treated for facial injuries.

Police say the 21-year-old man was arrested early Friday morning at King Street and Victoria Street North.
