Man arrested, puppy stolen on Canada Day returned to family
Police have arrested a 42-year-old Kitchener man who they say stole a six-month-old puppy from a Woolwich family on Canada Day.
The man was arrested on Monday, and is also accused of stealing jewelry during the break-in, which occurred while the family was out watching a fireworks display.
The man was charged with two counts of break and enter, possession of stolen property and breach of probation. He is also accused of another break in on July 4 at a Kitchener trailer park.
Police say the puppy was not harmed during the incident and is now back with its owners.
