Huron County OPP have arrested a man for allegedly stealing women's underwear over a 12-year span.

The OPP first picked up the trail in September 2001 while investigating a break and enter in which the only items that appeared to have been stolen were women's underwear.

Over the next three years, seven similar thefts were reported in the Morris-Turnberry and Huron East areas.

In January of this year another similar break-in was reported.

"Officers have been investigating and piecing it together along the way, building a case against this person of interest which turned into a suspect and ultimately we made our arrest on Tuesday June 17th," media Const. James Stanley said.

A 36-year-old man from Huron East faces five counts of break, enter and theft under $5,000. He also faces two counts of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.

Stanley said this case is under a publication ban.

The OPP would like to speak to anyone from the area in question that may have had their underwear stolen. People with information to contribute to this case are asked to call the Huron County OPP Crime Unit at 1 (888) 310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1 (800) 222-TIPS (8477).
