A male cyclist was pronounced dead on the scene of an apparent hit-and-run on Wellington Road 7 (CBC) (CBC)

Provincial police are looking for witnesses after a hit-and-run killed a cyclist in Wellington County Thursday morning. 

Ontario Provincial Police say the accident happened on Wellington Road 7 in Guelph-Eramosa Township at about 7:30 a.m., and scattered the road with vehicle debris.

A heavily-damaged blue bicycle ended up in a nearby ditch, and OPP say the cyclist was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
