A 25-year-old Kitchener woman has died one day after her car was hit by a tractor-trailer in Cambridge.

The woman was turning left onto Maple Grove Road from Hespeler Road at about 5:30 p.m. Monday when her Toyota hatchback was struck by the tractor-trailer, said Waterloo Regional Police Service spokeswoman Staff Sgt. Shaena Morris.

The woman was taken to Hamilton General Hospital with life-threatening injuries. She died Tuesday, police confirmed.

Police said the truck driver was treated at the scene for minimal injuries.

Neither road conditions nor alcohol were factors in the crash, said Morris.

Investigators are still looking to speak with witnesses to help piece together the events that led to the crash.
