Waterloo Regional Police are investigating after a home on Jansen Avenue in Kitchener was hit multiple times by gunfire late Saturday in what they are calling a targeted shooting.

The occupant of the home first called police at around 12:30 p.m. Sunday after noticing a broken front window, police said. The occupant reported hearing noises between 11:45 p.m. Saturday and 2:00 a.m. Sunday.

Officers who responded found evidence that "a small calibre firearm had been discharged repeatedly and that the complainant's residence had been targeted," police said in a release.

No one was injured, and police do not believe any other homes in the area were hit.

Police are asking anyone with information about the shooting to call Central Division at 519-650-8500 ext. 4499 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
