Kitchener brothers charged in theft of dozens of BlackBerry devices
Three Kitchener brothers have been arrested in the theft of $33,100 worth of electronics, inlcuding BlackBerry phones, tablets and accessories.
"We have been working with BlackBerry security throughout the course of the investigation," says Olaf Heinzel, a spokesperson for Waterloo Regional Police.
Heinzel says the police were tipped off about the theft in late October and on March 15th, executed a search warrant on a Kitchener address and found between 70-75 BlackBerrysmartphones, phone accessories, BlackBerry Playbook tablets and about 6 IBM laptops.
Three brothers, ages 32, 31 and 24 are all facing charges of possession of property obtained by crime and trafficking in stolen goods over $5000. The 31-year-old is also charged with theft over $5000.
All three are scheduled to appear in court on April 22.
