Intoxicated teen asks police for ride home, goes to jail instead

An intoxicated teenager who was prohbited by court order from possessing or consuming alcohol was put in a jail cell after calling Ontario Provincial Police to ask for a ride home.

An intoxicated teenager from Meaford, Ont. found himself in a jail cell after calling the police for a ride home. 

Grey County Ontario Provincial Police say it happened on Sunday around 4:34 a.m. when the teenager called the detachment asking for the ride. It turns out the teenager was prohibited from possessing or consuming alcohol, and police dropped him off at the Chatsworth OPP detachment where he is held in custody. 

The 18-year-old male has been charged with failing to comply with a probation order. His next court appearance is scheduled for Feb. 5 in Owen Sound.
