Infant killed in Kitchener crash identified
A 17-month-old infant who died in a crash on Highway 7/8 in Kitchener Saturday night has been identified Angelina Zhu of Stratford, Ont.
The infant's mother remains at Hamilton General hospital with serious but non life threatening injuries. The child's father suffered minor injuries and has been released from hospital.
A 53-year-old Kitchener man was arrested on the scene of the collision on Saturday and was served with eight charges, including impaired driving causing death and possession of marijuana.
The crash occurred when a cube van collided into the back of the family's Volkswagen Jetta that had become disabled in a "live lane" on Highway 7/8, west of Fischer Hallman Road in Kitchener.
The driver of the cube van was not hurt.
