Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police  are treating the sudden death of a 65-year-old man in Erin as a homicide. And because they can't locate his next-of-kin, police have released his name to the public.

OPP say the man was 65-year-old Frederick John Hatch, who had no fixed address.

Police believe Hatch travelled from eastern Ontario on Wednesday, December 16, 2015 arriving in the Erin area later that day or in the early morning hours of December 17, 2015.

Police were called to an area east of the 10th Line just off Wellington Road 124 shortly before 7:00 a.m. on Thursday and found the man's body.

A post-mortem was conducted in Toronto, and police say the cause of death is considered evidence in the case, so it will not be released.

He's described as about five feet six inches tall (167 cm), with a heavier build and a grey moustache that curves downwards and grey shoulder-length hair. He was found wearing a dark hoodie and blue jeans.

The OPP have established a tip line and are asking the public for any information. The toll free line is 1-844-677-5010.
