Waterloo Regional Police are investigating the suspicious death of a driver whose car flipped on King Street in downtown Kitchener, early Sunday. 

The car was driving erratically on King Street around 1 a.m. Sunday when it hit the curb and flipped upside down, police said. 

Emergency services arrived on the scene and treated the driver who was alone in the car. He was taken to Grand River Hospital where he died of his injuries. 

The body of the man has been taken to a Hamilton hospital for a post-mortem examination.

King Street East, between Scott Street and Eby Street North is closed for investigation.
