A pocket of cold Arctic air has established itself in Waterloo Region and the surrounding area with temperatures reaching a high of -18 C and colder on Tuesday.

By noontime, Environment Canada had ended an earlier wind chill warning for Waterloo Region and Wellington County. It said the conditions that prompted that warning had moved out of the area, though wind chill values are still expected to reach -27 through the afternoon and -29 Tuesday evening.

Tuesday's overnight low is expected to be -24 C.
