Cyclist seriously injured in Waterloo hit and run
Police are searching for a motorist they say struck a cyclist then fled early this morning in Waterloo.
The cyclist, a 60-year-old Waterloo man, was injured in the collision, and rushed to hospital in serious but non life-threatening condition.
Waterloo Region Police said the collision occurred around 5:40 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of University Avenue, near Highway 85. The driver's mirror was "sheared off" in the collision, police said.
It's believed the motorist was driving a larger vehicle, but police could not identify the type at this time.
