A construction worker has sustained non life-threatening injuries after falling from a fourth floor balcony on Monday while working on a new apartment complex on Rittenhouse Road in Kitchener.

Police said the man suffered back and leg injuries.

The man had been working on the balcony when a temporary railing gave away, police said in a release. He fell about 30 feet to the ground, they said.

The Ontario Ministry of Labour has been called to investigate the workplace incident.
