CBC Radio is temporarily taking its Waterloo Region local morning show off the air because the network has not yet received final approval of its broadcast application.

CBC had filed the application for the Waterloo Region service with the CRTC in June 2012, submitted a follow up clarification in September 2012 and filed a reply to interventions in December 2012. But approval has not yet been received.

CBC said that it anticipates this will be a temporary solution while it awaits final approval of its broadcast application from the CRTC.

"This was a regrettable oversight," said Angus McKinnon, a spokesman for CBC. "As soon as we became aware of the situation, we acted quickly to rectify it."

"We apologize to our listeners for the inconvenience and hope to be back on the air soon."

All services, including the morning radio show, continue to be available on the web and through mobile devices including BlackBerry 10, iPhones and Android.
