Brantford minister charged with sexual exploitation, luring
Brantford police have arrested Barry Pridham, a 64-year-old minister, who is accused of luring a 17-year-old girl into sending him naked pictures of herself over text and email.
The teenager was also asked to "touch herself in a sexual manner," police said.
Police said the teenager's mother found these messages and alerted police.
Police added that the accused was a close family friend, and the minister at the teenager's family church.
The Brantford Police Major Crime Unit searched the minister's home and office, and seized "numerous electronic devices."
The minister has been charged with sexual exploitation, luring a child and possession of child pornography.
Police said Pridham is the minister of Sydenham United Church and is running for city councillor of Ward 3.
There could be more victims, Brantford Police Service spokesman Dave Wiedrick said.
