Boy cyclist, 15, in Guelph hospital after car collision
A 15-year-old Guelph boy remains in hospital Friday morning with serious head injuries after being by hit a car while riding his bike last night.
Police say the collision happened around 9:20 p.m. in the Woodlawn Road East and Victoria Road North area.
The car, a 2003 Volkswagen Jetta, received serious damage to its windshield and a silver mountain bike was caught in the front grill of the car.
EMA workers called an air ambulance to the scene of the crash.
Police say the 71-year-old male driver is now under investigation.
Investigators are trying to figure out if the the boy was wearing a helmet, if the bike was in the intersection lawfully, and whether it had working lights.
The boy is described as being in stable condition.
