BlackBerry joins forces with MLSE

The Waterloo-based company is partnering with Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment to develop platforms that connect teams with their fans on a real time basis.

BlackBerry is teaming up with Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment to create new fan applications and interactive experiences catered to fans.

The agreement makes the Toronto Maple Leafs, Toronto Raptors, Toronto FC and the Toronto Marlies official mobile computing partners with Blackberry.

There are also plans to develop a BlackBerry Messenger channel that will be hosted by Leafs and Raptors personalities.

Andrew MacLeod, the managing director for BlackBerry in Canada, said Wednesday morning "one of the great things about BlackBerry and our platform is the immediacy of it.

"And we know how excited their fans are to get information about these iconic brands and we're really happy to be participating in the sharing of that information."
