Body found by kayakers in Beaver River identified

Ontario Provincial Police has released the identify of a woman whose body was found by kayakers in Beaver River, located about 175 km northwest of Toronto.

Body was found just after 5:30 p.m. Thursday evening

Ontario Provincial Police has released the identify of a woman whose body was found by kayakers in Beaver River, located about 175 km northwest of Toronto.

The body of Norma Nicholson was found the evening of Aug. 10. She was 81 years old and came from the Blue Mountains area. 

Police do not suspect foul play and have completed their investigation.

They initially withheld the identity of the deceased until a post-mortem examination had been completed.

It was the provincial police's emergency response unit and the Town of the Blue Mountains Fire Department which recovered the body.
