Grand Porch Party

2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m., Sunday June 8

Uptown West Waterloo neighbourhood

It's a full slate for this year's Grand Porch Party, which promises tons of bands, kids activities and refreshments. Check out local artists like Juneyt, JoJo Worthington, The Vaudevillian and The Short Films. You can even get your fill of bands with CBCers: Craig Norris's band The Kramdens are playing, as well as Amanda Grant's Run Coyote. There's a Children's Music Garden, where the GPP giant xylophone will be, and there's even a freezie giveaway at the corner of Alexandra and Dunbar Streets. There's even a GPP app to help you catch as much music as possible. 

Sound in the Land 2014 Dawn Concert

7:00 a.m. - 8:30 a.m, Sunday, June 8

Columbia Lake, with parking near Brubacher House, 248 Columbia St. W., Waterloo

Welcome the sun with this dawn waterside concert featuring the music of Canadian composer R. Murray Schafer at the University of Waterloo's Columbia Lake. Alongside flute, trumpet and bassoon will be Mino Ode Kwewak N'gamowak (the Good Hearted Women Singers), and Sahara and Nafshiya Haylestrom providing bird calls. The performance is part of The Sound in the Land festival and conference that focuses on music and the environment with a Mennonite musical perspective. The festival runs from the 5th to the 7th. Greek Food Festival

12:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m., Saturday, June 7 and Sunday, June 8

Sts. Peter and Paul Greek Orthodox Church, 527 Bridgeport Road E., Kitchener

Eat, eat, eat! I just spent a few minutes going through the Greek Food Festival website, and I can guarantee you everything you could want is on their menu. Plus there will be dancing, kids activities, and if you bring in a non-perishable item you can get in for free. 

Donkey Day

10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., Sunday, June 8

6981 Puslinch Conc. 4, RR#6 Guelph, ON,

Donkey Day is an annual fundraiser for The Donkey Sanctuary just outside of Guelph. It's a chance to learn about what the sanctuary does, meet and the donkeys and take part in fun activities. There will be donkey talks, food trucks, a magician, agility dogs, music and a silent auction. 

Wellesley Farmers' Market opens

9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., Saturday, June 7

Wellesley Park Pavilion, 1004 Catherine St., Wellesley

The first ever Wellesley Farmers' Market will take place on Saturday, featuring local food producers, as well as cakes, spices, crafts and clothing.
