Waterloo City Council New Year's Levee

Ring in the New Year again with Waterloo Mayor Dave Jaworksy and the Waterloo city council. There will be free skating and face painting, music, and live entertainment by Erick Traplin. You'll be able to see what people submitted to the 2016 Wishes campaign, and read what people wish for Waterloo this year. Plus, free cookies!

9th Annual Trivia Challenge and Dinner

Are you a trivia buff? Want the chance to win $800? Then register quickly for the Stratford and District Agricultural Society's 9th Annual Trivia Challenge. Register a team of eight to compete (it's $45 a person) and you'll get dinner included. I called the Ag Society about this specifically for you CBC K-W listeners and readers, and there are a few tables left, but you have to register NOW before the spots are taken. Adios Ernesto: The Last Words of Ernest Hemingway

TheMuseum, 10 King Street West

This event is part of TheMuseum's Havana Dialogues and features Brian Gordon Sinclair, a playwright and performer, recreating Hemingway's final years. Hemingway famously lived and wrote in Havana and on a plantation in Cuba, and met Fidel Castro in 1960.
