Bring a little light and warmth into your Family Day weekend with the Bring on the Sunshine African Festival and celebrate Black History Month, too. Expect food, music, performances, dance and drumming and a full marketplace.
Free Family Day Public Skates

The weather forecast predicts a chilly Saturday and Sunday, so you'll want to get the kids out of the house for sure by Monday. Bring them to The Aud for a skate in the morning and help the Food Bank of Waterloo Region, too. Bring non-perishable food items for the food bank for admission. There will also be hot chocolate, refreshments and prizes. The afternoon free skate is hosted by Liberal Kitchener Centre MPP Daiene Vernile and features warm refreshments too! In Elmira, PC MPP Michael Harris is hosting a free skate at the Woolwich Memorial Arena, while outside you'll be able to see the Winter In Bloom outdoor snow painting activity.

Game of Thrones fan? Lord of The Rings? You'll want to check out KnightsFest with the family. This is a first-time event that celebrates all things medieval and Renaissance, from displays of replica weapons and armour, to archery displays and roaming characters. There are games like "hit the knight" and "trebuchet" and jugglers and a magician, too.

Xtreme Ice Racing

OK, so imagine the ice at The Aud. Now imagine it filled with motorcycles and quads, racing around at high speeds. Did I mention that the riders drift around the corners? And brakes aren't a thing? That's what you'll see on Saturday night at The Aud. Show up early to meet the drivers, sample some poutine and see performances from School of Rock.
