1. First Annual Pond & Garden Tour

Saturday, 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

3763 King Street East, Kitchener

Denise Wamsley organized Waterloo Region’s first ever pond and garden tour. She writes that the tour visits "7 gorgeous urban waterscapes in KW" and that it wasn’t hard to find great ponds created by local residents to feature. "One dug a 15-thousand gallon pond!" she says. The tour itself runs from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and then Grand Valley Garden Village holds a "locavore" barbecue from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. that also includes prize draws and special vouchers. The best part is that a regional non-profit will win a custom waterfall feature.

2. Kitchener Market Art Show

Saturday, 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

Kitchener Market, 300 King Street East, Kitchener

If you’re heading to the market for some fall apples (mmmmm) be sure to check out the art on display created by kids who participated Art Innovators' classes and summer camps. This also seems like a good time to mention that Art Innovators offer classes and events for adults too so it’s never too early to unleash your inner Tom Thomson or Lawren Harris.

3. A Bicycle Festival

Saturday, 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Waterloo Public Square, Waterloo

This bike festival has a twist – it’s billed as an event for "women and the ones that support them." The festival features clinics on bike maintenance and riding techniques and female-specific gear.  There’ll also be a food truck on site, plus you can get your bike cleaned by Wilfrid Laurier students who are doing their first Shinerama "bike wash" to raise money to fight cystic fibrosis.

4. Berlin Klassik Car Show

Saturday, 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Sunday, 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Bingeman’s, Kitchener

Volkswagen, Audi, Porsche, Mercedes, BMW – Germany sure knows how to make cars. You can celebrate German engineering and rev your engine at the Berlin Klassik car show this weekend. There’s a swap meet on Saturday and the main car show takes place on Sunday. Our newsroom car buff, reporter Matthew Kang, will also be around on Saturday morning taking pictures. Macht schnell!

5. Tomatoes and Salsa Workshop

Saturday, 9:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

75 Tillsley Drive, Kitchener
