7 with minor injuries after Guelph school bus crash

Two drivers and five elementary students were transported to hospital Thursday morning following a collision between a school bus and a pickup truck.

Five Guelph elementary school students and two drivers were taken to hospital Thursday morning after suffering minor injuries from a collision between a school bus and a pickup truck just after 8:00 a.m.

The students, all from Aberfoyle Public School, have since been released from hospital, said says Upper Grand District School Board spokeswoman Maggie McFadzen.

The collision occurred on Maltby Road at Crawley Road, just east of Highway 6 in the city's south end. There were 19 students riding on the bus at the time.

Ontario Provincial Police say their investigation found the pickup truck was travelling southbound on Crawley Road and collided with the school bus that was heading eastbound on Maltby Road in Puslinch Township.

Police added that Crawley Road is controlled by a stop sign at the intersection.
