In a six hour time span, Waterloo Regional Police have arrested five drivers in Cambridge for impaired driving. 

The incidents are said to be unrelated. 

"It just seemed for officers working last night an unusually high number of impaired cases that occurred in such a short span in only one jurisdiction in our region," said police spokesman Olaf Heinzel.

Here are the details on each incident. 

1. 6:44 p.m. 

Lisbon Pines and Braga Dr.

Two vehicle collision. No injuries. Police arrest 47-year-old man at the scene.

2. 7:18 p.m. 

Samuelson St.

Citizens called police regarding intoxicated man.  Police arrest a 60-year-old driver. In addition to impaired driving, the man has been charged with mischief to property.

3. 8:45 p.m.

Northview Heights and Glamis Rd.

Man drove car over curb and onto a lawn. Citizens kept driver from leaving. Police arrest 26-year-old.

In addition to impaired driving, the man was charged with dangerous driving.

4. 9:00 p.m.

Kribs Street

Male driver, 35, struck parked car and was arrested at scene. No injuries. 

5. 12:18 a.m. 

St. Andrew’s St. and Cedar St.

Male driver, 33, seen going through red light. Struck stop sign and snowbank.  Man attempted to flee but was arrested by police.

In addition to impaired driving, the man was charged with dangerous driving, two Highway Traffic Act offences and one Liquor License Act offence.
