A special weather statement from Environment Canada has been issued for Waterloo Region and Wellington County, warning that a Kansas low pressure system is likely to bring snow and blowing snow to the area on Wednesday.

Snow is forecast to begin overnight for Waterloo Region, and around 10 cm of snow is forecast.

Total snowfall will depend on where the system tracks, but snowfall amounts from 5 to 15 cm are possible in areas around Niagara Region and north of Lake Erie, according to the weather agency.

Possible snow and blowing snow on roads could lead to poor visibility and drivers are advised to be cautious.
