The Maritimes' largest children's hospital is no longer going to tell expectant parents the sex of their baby.
Officials at Halifax's IWK Grace Health Centre say cutbacks in the ultrasound department have led to waiting lists of up to six weeks. As a result, the hospital decided to drop free services that are not medically necessary.
IWK officials say the hospital will also stop selling ultrasound snapshots to parents.
They say the changes will allow staff to focus on core services.
