It's official: Tremblay to run for mayor

Grald Tremblay will become the second person to challenge Montreal Mayor Pierre Bourque to become mayor of the new mega-city of Montreal.

Tremblay was a cabinet minister in Robert Bourassa's Liberal government until 1993. He resigned as Liberal MNA for Outremont in 1996.

The other candidate to face Bourque will be the winner of the nomination of the coalition formed by the Montreal Citizens Movement civic party and several councillors.

Tremblay says if he is elected, St-Lonard mayor Frank Zampino would head his executive committee.
