It may not be the Labour Day Classic, but Hamiltonians have another chance to catch a hometown team face off against rivals from Toronto Friday when the Bulldogs play the Toronto Marlies.
The game starts at 7:30 p.m. Tickets range from $24 to $36 and are available at Ticketmaster.ca and the box office.
Art against violence
Are you an artist who wants to create for a cause? The December 6th Planning Committee is asking for original art submissions to be displayed at an exhibit that will honour women who have been murdered or have been affected by violence.
Organizers are asking contributors to make works that reflect the following phrase: "Solidarity inspires hope in the power of action." Submissions are due on Nov. 30 at the Women's Centre of Hamilton at 100 Main St. E, Suite 205.
The art exhibition and candlelight vigil will be held Dec. 6, 2012 at 5:30 p.m. at the Workers' Arts & Heritage Centre, located at 51 Stuart St. The event falls on the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women, which commemorates the 1989 Montreal Massacre, when a gunman killed 14 women at L'École Polytechnique in Montreal.
