The Rotary Club of Hamilton’s popular Spring Uncorked wine and food event happens April 23 at the Royal Botanical Gardens.

The annual fundraiser offers a chance to sample the best of local restaurants and award-winning wines in a casual, stroll-through setting. More than a dozen restaurants will offer signature appetizers or tastings of their entrées.

"People love this event because it’s so free-form," said event chair Michael Yamamoto in a statement.

"It’s best to arrive hungry and give yourself a good two hours to get around the room."

The organizers will be raffling off an "instant wine cellar" worth $2,000.

The door prize is a Falls & Wine Country weekend getaway, behind the wheel of a 2013 BMW 3-Series Cabriolet, courtesy of Budds’ BMW.

The proceeds go to help support the Rotary Club of Hamilton's literacy and leadership projects for children in the city’s North End.

The event runs from 6.30 to 9:30 p.m. on April 23 at the Royal Botanical Gardens, and tickets are $100. Tickets and information are available at www.springuncorked.com.
