1) The Locke Street Festival

The annual family festival will shut down Locke Street from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. this Saturday.

Get ready for live entertainment, street vendors and food. Lots of good food.

2) Model Boat Show and Competition

Its the 50th anniversary of the Hamilton Museum of Steam and Technology, running Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., rain or shine.

The Confederation of Marine Modelers will demonstrate a variety of radio-controlled model boats in celebration. Visitors can try their hand at those watercrafts.

The museum is also offering free, guided tours of the 1859 Waterworks from noon- 4 p.m. both days.

The Museum of Steam and Technology is located at 400 Woodward Ave.

3) YEP's Barton's Back Clean-up

If you're a young professional looking to meet other young professionals and wanting to get involved, meet YEP (Young Entrepreneurs and Professionals) Saturday at 10:30 near the Barton Street BIA to get your hands dirty.

YEP Hamilton is working with the Barton Street BIA to help clean up the street and bring new business to Barton. Saturday's event is a street and park cleanup, with a graffiti cleanup to come. Contact w.simmons@hamiltonchamber.ca for more information.

4) HBSPCA Wiggle Waggle

Do you have a cute dog? Or do you like cute dogs? Then head to the Hamilton-Burlington SPCA's annual Wiggle Waggle this Sunday at Confederation Park.

Opening ceremonies kick off the walk at 11 a.m., followed by a 5 km walk around the park. The event is a fundraiser for the SPCA. This year, the goal is $75,000.

There is a $40 fundraising commitment per person.

5) RBG Plant Sale

Get your plants before the warm weather goes away at the Royal Botanical Gardens Auxiliary plant sale this weekend. All shurbs, perennials, ornamental grasses and spring bulbs are half off.

The sale runs Friday from 3 - 6 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m.
