The Grey Cup tour

The TiCats won't be bringing it home this season, but the Grey Cup is making a stop in Hamilton Saturday as part of its 100th anniversary tour.

You can catch a glimpse of the cup at Bayfront Park starting at 10 a.m. CFL Alumni Less Browne, Rocky DiPietro, Bill Kyle, David Lane, Terry Lehne, Angelo Mosca, Peter Murphy and Bob Richardson will all be there to sign autographs for fans.

There are lots of opportunities to win prizes, too. For more information, visit

The Yates Cup

The McMaster Marauders are looking to keep rolling with a repeat win of last year's Yates Cup at Ron Joyce Stadium Saturday.

The game is sold out, but for those without tickets, McMaster campus restaurant and bar 1280 is holding a Yates Cup party starting at noon and will have the game on every TV screen in the place.

Parachute Club

Renowned Canadian pop act Parachute Company will be playing at the Pearl Company Saturday night.

The gig is being shot for a documentary, and is a homecoming for singer and native Hamiltonian Lorraine Segato.

Segato fondly recalls "kicking around James Street" with her pal superstar producer Daniel Lanois decades ago. Yet she's only played Hamilton six or seven times since.

Tickets are $25. For more on the show, click here.

Hamilton Philharmonic Orchestra

The HPO continues its Master Series Saturday with Ravel and Shostakovich. Conductor Marcelo Lehninger returns to Hamilton this season to lead the orchestra in Shostakovich's heroic Fifth Symphony.

Canadian pianist Ian Parker is also making his debut with the Philharmonic in Ravel's Concerto in G major. Showtime is 7:30 p.m. For tickets and more information, visit

It may seem early, but Santa will be strolling down the streets of Hamilton Saturday.

The parade runs from Queen and Main Streets, east on Main to John Street, north on John to King Street, and then west on King to Bay Street. Things get underway at 2 p.m.
