16-year-old arrested after stabbing, facing assault, drug charges
Man taken to hospital with 'moderate' injuries, police say
A 16-year-old is facing assault and drug charges after an early morning stabbing in the lower city, police say.
An emergency call first came in around 3 a.m., investigators say, about an injured man in the area of Spadina Avenue, in between Main and King streets near Tim Hortons Field.
Once emergency crews got there, the man told police that he and a friend had confronted a "suspicious" man, who then stabbed him with an "unknown object."
The man was taken to hospital with "moderate" injuries, police say.
A short time later, investigators tracked down a 16-year-old who matched their suspect description.
The teen now faces charges of aggravated assault, five counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking drugs, possession of proceeds of crime, and possession of proceeds of crime.
