Police investigate Mountain assault after reports of gunfire

Police are investigating an early morning assault in Hamilton where a gun was reportedly fired.

Police are investigating an early morning assault in Hamilton where a gun was reportedly fired.

Just shy of midnight on Friday, Hamilton police responded to a house in the area of Rymal Rd. E, and Upper Wentworth St., when they received a tip about gunshots.

In a news release, police said a victim was attacked by four men at a home. Police say no one was shot, but one person was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

The suspects were described as four men in their 20s who were wearing masks. 

It's believed the suspects fled the scene in a silver sedan.

Police say they believe the incident was a targeted attack.
