Hamilton firefighters rescued an injured woman who fell about nine metres at Felker’s Falls on the Stoney Creek Mountain.
Emergency crews responded to the incident at 1:39 p.m., said Hamilton Fire Department spokesman Claudio Mostacci.
Firefighters conducted a high-angle rope rescue to lift her to safety. Paramedics then rushed her to hospital just after 3 p.m.
Mostacci said he didn’t know the nature of the woman's injuries.
He said the icy conditions at the top of the falls made for a tricky rescue.
“It’s a delicate situation normally, and the ice and cold intensifies it,” he said.
