Need to run some last minute holiday errands? Before you rush out, check our list of what's open and when during this holiday season. It may save you a trip:

City services

Garbage and recycling: There is no green bin, blue box or garbage pick up on Christmas Day, and all other pick-ups the rest of the week are delayed by one day. Recycling centres are closed Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day.

HSR bus schedule: On December 25, buses will operate on a special Christmas Day schedule. Boxing Day, buses are on a Saturday schedule while New Year' Eve is a regular weekday schedule, with service free after 6 p.m. New Year's Day will be a Sunday schedule.

Recreation centres and arenas: All closed on December 25 and January 1.

Museums: All museums — except for Fieldcote and Griffin House — are closed Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day. Fieldcote Museum is closed December 25 through to January 1 and Griffin House is closed during the months of December and January.

Farmers' Market: The Farmers' Market — usually open Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays — will be closed on December 25 and January 1.

Ontario Works: Ontario Works offices will be closed from Christmas Day to New Year's Day.

Parking Tickets and Property Taxes: If you just can't contain your enthusiasm to pay your property taxes or parking tickets, you're in luck. Payment of property taxes can be left in a drop box at the rear doors of City Hall or at your nearest Municipal Service Centre. Parking tickets can be paid online anytime at hamilton.ca/parking.

Malls

Eastgate Square: Closed Christmas Day and New Year's Day. Open at 8:30 a.m. Christmas Eve and Boxing Day.

Lime Ridge: Closed Christmas Day and New Year's Day. Open at 8 a.m. Boxing Day and 8:30 a.m. Christmas Eve.

Jackson Square: Closed Christmas Day and New Year's Day. Open at 10 a.m. on Boxing Day, 9:30 a.m. Christmas Eve.

Liquor Stores

LCBO and Beer Stores will be closed Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day and will close by 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve.

Grocery Stores

Grocery stores, including 24-hour WalMart Supercentres, will be closed Christmas Day and New Year's Day. Most will be open Boxing Day, although a handful will remain closed.

Tim Hortons: Each store has a different owner who can set his or her own hours, so it varies from location to location. Many will be closed on Christmas and New Year's Day but some, like the location at 1445 Main St. W., will be open 24/7
