A woman is in hospital after a stabbing in Hamilton’s west end, police say.
Staff Sergeant Michael Spencer said the attack occurred around 9:30 p.m. Saturday in the area of Main Street West and Whitney Avenue.
Paramedics rushed the victim to hospital with “very serious injuries,” said Spencer.
He said the woman's condition has since stabilized.
Police have not made any arrests in the stabbing, Spencer told CBC Hamilton on Sunday morning.
Spencer said he couldn’t give any information on what led up to incident or the number of suspects police believe were involved.
Anyone with additional information on the assault is asked to call Hamilton police at 905-546-4925 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
“Any assistance from the public would be appreciated,” Spencer said.
