Fresh off their performance at Supercrawl in Hamilton on Sept. 15, local band Of Gentlemen and Cowards hit the stage at the historic Ed Sullivan theatre in New York to play the Late Show with David Letterman on CBS. They performed their song "Save Me" in front of a studio audience Monday night.

The band includes guitarist Christian Fedele, drummer Jake Warren, vocalist Simon Edwards and bassist Josh Dawson. All four are students at McMaster University.

Their trip to stardom started when Dawson entered "Save Me' in a contest. The winner would have a place in a new film, "We Made This Movie" produced by Letterman's production company Worldwide Pants.

They won. That led them to be included in another contest that would send a band to play on Late Night with David Letterman.

They won that one with help from friends, family and fans in Hamilton. Votes counted and the band was invited to New York for the big show.
