A Hamilton man has been arrested for sexually assaulting two sex workers in the city's east end.

Around 8:40 p.m. on March 28, a sex worker and a man went into a parking lot in the area of Lincoln Street and Linden Street, where they had a disagreement about the price for services.

The man refused to pay her, and then sexually assaulted the victim, police say. She was able to run away from the man, who briefly chased her before giving up. She called police on her cell phone as she ran.

Then on Sunday at around 5:30 a.m., a sex worker was walking home from a friend's house in the area of King Street and Barnsdale Avenue, when she started talking with a man who was leaning against a red van.

The two agreed on a price for services, and walked into a nearby alleyway. The man became aggressive and assaulted the woman before sexually assaulting her, police say.

The woman started screaming until the man ran southbound down the alleyway towards Main Street.

On Monday, police arrested a 45-year-old Hamilton man and charged him with two counts of sexual assault and one count of assault. He was held for a bail hearing.
