Teens stabbed after fight at Canada Day fireworks
2 teens were taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries
It wasn’t all pleasant and patriotic at Bayfront Park Tuesday night for the fireworks – police are investigating why two teens were stabbed there late in the evening.
Police were called to the park around 10:45 p.m., and when they got there, ambulance crews were already treating two teens for stab wounds. A 17-year-old and a 15-year-old were taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
Police are still investigating, but officers believe the two teens got into a fight with another group of people at the park, police say.
“It’s unknown at this point in the investigation if the individuals were known to each other,” police said in a news release.
