Suspected arson destroys playground equipment
A suspected arsonist destroyed some children’s playground equipment on the weekend.
Hamilton police and firefighters were called to the fire at Bruleville Park at 100 Bobolink Rd. around 4:26 a.m. on Nov. 16.
They didn’t see anyone suspicious, but the park apparatus had “significant damage,” police say. Two plastic slides, a plastic roof and a plastic ladder all melted to the ground, and the remaining steel structure was damaged. No one was injured.
The cause of the fire is unknown but is “believed to be suspicious,” police say. The arson unit is investigating.
The unit is also investigating a barn fire on Berry Road that happened around 7 p.m. on Nov. 16. No humans or animals were injured in the fire.
Police are also investigating a third arson incident on the weekend. Around 7:45 a.m. on Nov. 16, an abandoned trailer on Trimble Road also burned. No one was injured and the arson unit is investigating.
