Suspect with machete robs man for Sunday morning beer, police say

Hamilton police are looking for a suspect who allegedly robbed a man with a machete for a case of beer early Sunday morning.

Victim, 46, not injured

Hamilton police are looking for a suspect who they say, early Sunday morning, used a machete to rob a man for money and a case of beer.

A man was delivering a case of beer to a home on Argyle Avenue around 3:40 a.m. on Sunday when the suspect showed up, police say. 

The suspect pulled out a large machete and asked the man to hand over the beer, as well as all his money, according to police. The victim complied and the suspect fled in a vehicle.

The suspect is described as a white male in his mid-20s. He is five feet and eight inches tall, stocky and with a round face. He has a tattoo on his neck and was wearing a white t-shirt and baggy jeans during the incident.

The getaway vehicle is described as a grey Mazda Tribute.

The victim, 46, was not injured.

Police continue to investigate.
